If a student qualifies they may move up or down in those subject areas depending on the student's needs. The rest of the school day, the student remains with their age level peers for all other subjects.

Is there a deadline for applying?
How long does it take before I know if my child's application has been approved?
Does my child need to be fluent in English?
Pre-school, elementary and middle school students do not need to be proficient in English. We offer a comprehensive Intensive English program (free of charge) for students in those age levels.
However, secondary students need to be proficient enough to access secondary curriculum in order to successfully earn the required credits for graduation.
Is QSI International School of Malta accredited and what type of diploma will my child receive?
QSI International School of Malta has been accredited by the Middle States Association since 2015. The school maintains its accreditation with MSA through a continual process of identifying areas for growth and implementing a community supported action plan to push the boundaries of success and achievement in those areas.
Our secondary students will receive one of three diplomas: General Diploma, Academic Diploma, or Academic Diploma with Honors.
What accommodations are made for children with special learning needs?
QSI makes accommodations for students with special learning needs. There are trained staff and administrators who develop individual learning plans for the specific needs of the student, and help guide and support teacher to implement the plan. QSI Malta has access to a Regional Support Coordinator who works closely with staff to implement strategies, individual plans and provides resources for teachers and students. The school also is able to hire local Learning Support Educators from Malta for students who need full-time one on one support. These services are determined on a case by case basis.
How do I sign my student up for a lunch plan and transportation?
Lunch: Due to Covid protocols, the students bring their own snacks and lunches to school for the 2020-2021 school year. School lunch information for the 2021-2022 school year will be sent home to families in August 2021. In the past, the school used a private school lunch caterer to provide nutritious lunches.
Transportion: All students receive free transportation from the Maltese goverment including the students of QSI Malta. The school registrar will provide families with the contact information for the bus company Dacoby to sign up and arrange transportation for students. The mini buses pick up and drop off students in their neighborhoods close to their homes.
What does the school day look like?
The student drop-off is between 8:00-8:30 a.m. Monday-Friday. There are 8 periods of classes from 8:45 to 4:00 pm including recesses and lunch break. Each day students participate in literacy, mathematics, science, cultural studies, physical education, art, music and foreign languages. In addition our students participate in keeping safe and character education with our success orientations.
For our Secondary III (grade 11) and IV (grade 12) students, the school offers at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course in each subject area. Qualifying students may enroll in one or more of these courses. These are college level courses and exams that our high school students are able to take. For more information visit here.
This year there have not been many after school activities due to COVID restrictions. However, we anticipate a resumption of after school activities for the 2021-2022 school year.
Activities range from sports teams, MUN, drama, art, and others depending on the staff's interest leading the activities. QSIM also partners with outside companies to provide additional after school activity offerings on the school campus.
